Tonight was our cub scout space derby. None of us had ever done this before so we weren't sure what to expect. These things are always a challenge for me, but Craig, the aviator that he is, had a great design plan for Spencer's rocket. By the end of the night, Spencer had double medals: Gold for speed and silver for skill. (We had to throw the skill race because we didn't think it would be fair to bring home all the gold medals!) I am actually very glad Spencer's rocket did so well. Our ragatta boat all but sunk last year and tonight the cub master bought Spencer the wrong book and scarf for his advancement which totally devastated him. He had been looking forward to getting his new book so that he could get to work on his Bear badges. Spencer totally loves the scouting program. He says it makes him feel like a man! Congrats little man!
That looks like a lot of fun--but I can't believe he is advancing to Bear already! (Not that I really know much of anything about the scouting program!) Anyway, very cool to win those medals! Congrats.
